How Long Does an MOT Last?

Once your vehicle passes its MOT test, you will be issued an MOT certificate. Your MOT certificate lasts for one year from the date of issue and will have the date your next MOT is due, so it’s always best to put the MOT certificate somewhere safe so you know when your next MOT is due.

Can I Drive My Vehicle without a Valid MOT?

Driving a vehicle without a valid MOT is illegal unless you are driving to a pre-booked MOT test. If you are not planning on driving your vehicle, you must keep your vehicle off the road and declare your vehicle SORN.
